Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's Day was super eventful this year....

I figured that since I live in Utah,  and I am a Mormon, I had better go out and buy Piper a new Valentine's Day outfit. (Utah Moms dress their kids up for holidays. It's a thing.) I went out late the night before, and picked Miss P up something pink and adorable, in the size she normally wears (and is actually almost growing out of), and when I put it on her in the morning? It ended up being huge. Awesome. #utahmomfail But hey, I guess that means she can wear it next year, too. #utahmomvictory Ellie already had something heart-y and pinkish to wear, and Jo's only requirement for this holiday is that he look a little more handsome than usual.  #notpossible I got the kids dressed for the day, cut Ellie's sandwich into a heart shape, put it in her lunch bag, and sent her off to school.  Heart shaped sandwich surprises make my Ellie ridiculously happy.  And I admit, I kind of think it's fun.  You guys, more moms should do things like Utah Mormon Moms do. Why not?

At 3:15pm the kids came home from school, they bounced up the front steps with their Valentine bags in hand, eager to dump them out and read their notes to each other.  I made them pose outside for a picture or two, first.

Don't let the sunshine fool you.  It was an awesome 20 degrees outside.

 When Piper is outside, she becomes a totally crazy goofy laughing nut.

We call it "Outside Piper".

She LOVES to be outside.  I cannot wait for Spring.

 Piper says "Cheese!!! Cheese! Cheeeeeeeeeese!!!!" and scrunches her cute little nose.  It makes Jonas laugh really hard.

Ellie wasn't interested in more than a couple of pictures.  She disappeared. Probably inside sorting through her Valentines.  Eager to see if "K" or "L" had given her something special. 

Sigh. Third grade love. #killmenow

The only young love I can appreciate right now, is sibling love. Come on! Look at these two little lovebirds. They adore each other. I adore them.  That's all the love we need. #mykidswillnevergrowup

Speaking of love.  I love this handsome dude. Lots. #myshortyboyfriend

 TOTALLY eventful, see?

Oh, wait.  What about Ryan and I? Oh. Well, we put the kids to bed an hour early, got takeout from our favorite steakhouse, and fell asleep on the couch.

True love right there.
