Ellie turned nine last Tuesday, and we spent the entire week celebrating.
Ellie spent her birthday eve camping out on our bedroom floor (her favorite). Ryan and I put balloons and presents in her room after she fell asleep on our floor, and I laid out a new birthday outfit for her on her bed.
Ryan left for work long before it was time for Ellie to get up. He told me to take lost of pictures of Ellie opening her presents, and send them to him. But, Ellie, the biggest daddy's girl on the planet, told me that she wanted to wait until after her daddy got home to open her presents.
Sigh. Sweet thing.
Just before Ellie left for school, we did our traditional balloon release. (One balloon this time, with a number 9 written on it, due to the national helium shortage.) Ellie takes this wish making thing quite seriously, and I hope with all my mama heart that her secret wish (because you can't say it out loud or it won't come true) comes true.
I arranged with Ellie's teacher, to bring in balloons and doughnuts, and leave them as a surprise for Ellie and her classmates, while her class was at the library. Her teacher sent me a message shortly after I left, telling me how big Ellie's smile was when she came back to class. #heartburst She'll only be my nine year old baby once!
Ellie waited anxiously the whole hour and fifteen minutes after she got home from school, for her dad to come home from work. She bounced on the bed, asking with a giggle "you guys ready?".
She had NO IDEA what her gifts were going to be this year. Didn't even know that something so awesome existed! She was thrilled... we did ourselves good.
Oh, what did she get? Just an American Girl type doll, with REAL hair.
Real hair! And a blow dryer, and curlers, and a flat iron.
"You mean I can wash and dry and style her hair?! For real?!! Conditioner and everything?"
Yep, you got it Ellie Belly.
After presents, we headed to Ellie's most favorite place to eat. Taco Amigo.
Ellie's dessert request, cupcakes from The Sweet Tooth Fairy.
No prob, birthday girl.
We celebrated Ellie with family, over the weekend.
Ellie picked her second favorite cake of choice. A white sheet cake from Costco. With a rainbow on it, her choice. I liked her choice, personally, because of the sunshine. Ellie is, after all, our little merry sunshine.
More intense wish making!
Ellie's Aunt Alyse, always out does herself. She knows Ellie SO well, and spoils her rotten.
She got Ellie a wooden stacking stable for her horses. Ellie's wish granted? Possibly.
Oh, man. These cousins love and look up to their Ellie, so much.
Happy Birthday Week, Ellison Morgan!
